Periyava Illam, situated at Plot No. 34 Bhagya Lakshmi Nagar, Madambakkam , Chennai 600126 was constructed in 1999 by Shri. T. Prakash as a premises for conducting the activities of Thiaga Sastha Trust. Part time veda classes and other cultural activities were going on till 2002 when trust’s Krishna Yajur Veda Patasala commenced its operations with 5 children under the able guidance of Kanchi Sankaracharyas.

Over the years, it has become a prominent place for the local public who attend the activities of the trust conducted here. Initially, it had only a ground floor and two rooms and kitchen on the first floor besides an A/C sheet roofed shed for conducting classes. 

In June 2020, reconstruction of the premises got over and now it has ground plus two floors with Anusham Hall in first floor and Sri Jayendrar Hall in second floor. At present 11 students of trust’s Veda Patasala stay here and pursue their vedic education.

We are supported by Jana Kalyan, Madambakkam through the noble scheme of “Pidi arisi Thittam” launched by Our Maha Periyava of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam for running the Veda Patasala. Additionally, other likeminded Public provide financial support to the Trust from time to time to carry out its various activities.
